Robin has been playing at art since she was a child. Her earliest gig was the Bulldogs Newspaper artist at Covington Elementary School. The year she graduated Covington High she designed the cover of the 1977 Chargers annual.

While earning a nursing degree from Los Angeles Valley College she took numerous art classes and worked as an assistant to the director of the art department and campus gallery. Her favorite part of the job was working with professional artists and art students on gallery exhibits and openings. After graduating she continued life drawing studies at Every Woman’s Village in Van Nuys CA under Alex Vilumsons, former professor of Art at UCLA.

Moving to Fairfield County Connecticut in 1994 she enrolled at Southern Connecticut State University exploring a wide range of mediums through 3-dimensional design. She later shifted her creativity to interior design. Graduating from the University of New Haven with a Bachelor of Arts and focus on interior architecture. She worked part-time for Wiles Architects and Robin McGarry Interior Design ASID doing commercial interiors and high-end residential homes in Fairfield County CT. Many of these homes were featured in regional magazines.

Returning to her hometown of Covington in 2021 she has turned her attention to sharpening her talents. Through a class at Liberty Vintage she found her tribe of artists and joined the Tipton Art League. She has worked in pastel, oil, charcoal, pencil, pen and acrylic and continues to explore different mediums. Including pottery classes at Art and Clay in Memphis and a little metal smithing with Brandi Boyd. She loves working with other artists and has taken classes from Barbara McBride (local artist) Brandi Boyd (Memphis, metal smiting) Barrie Foster (local artist) Rebecca Chappel (Memphis, encaustic and cold wax) and Judy Nocifora (Memphis, oil painting) and Tami Langlois (local artist).
