Service Opportunities
Because Memphis/Germantown Art League is run entirely by volunteer efforts of its members, each member is expected to provide a service to the organization as opportunities arise. When you join or renew, select a service team (see descriptions below) to help with the website, exhibitions, receptions, group event promotion, or educational activities.
- Performing a service earns a service point which is required to be eligible to enter the MGAL Juried Spring Exhibition.
- Guidelines of the organization will be provided each year on mgal.org and in the yearbook.
EXHIBITION SERVICE TEAM
- Organize and conduct juried and non-juried shows.
EXHIBITION RECEPTION SERVICE TEAM
- Organize receptions for Exhibitions and General Meetings.
MEMBERSHIP SERVICE TEAM
- Process membership applications and keep a current list of members.
EDUCATION SERVICE TEAM
- Promote and provide continuing education at General Meetings and organizing workshops, demonstrations and other appropriate activities.
OUTREACH SERVICE TEAM
- Identify arts organizations and recommend support with grants and in-kind services.
DEVELOPMENT SERVICE TEAM
- Raise funds to support the activities of the League.
PUBLICITY SERVICE TEAM
- Promote MGAL membership, exhibitions and educational opportunities to both members and the community.
COMMUNICATION SERVICE TEAM
- Produce communications to the membership across social media, email and mgal.org.
WEBSITE SERVICE TEAM
- Maintain, design and develop the website.
Membership Dues
Dues are $30 annually and due by June 1st of each year. MGAL’s fiscal year runs from June 1st through May 31st of the following year. New members joining in the fourth quarter (March through May) will not have to pay dues for the next fiscal year.
